Inactivei don’t understand how they work either. when you do a link search for my newest site it states only one link. now i have 4 pages of links??? figure that one out.
could the links be that i signed up with not counting or registering as real links according to google.
the site is: http://www.all-gambling-casinos-online.com
if anyone has any answer as to why google says i’ve only got one link then please let me know.
also i’m number one under certain search term phrases?? could that be with only one link to my favor. oh well glad i’m at the top at least.

InactiveYou know what’s gonna happen….
You’ll struggle, beat yourself up, be in pain a while….maybe even use this here crowbar to whack yourself in the head a few times when I’m done…(I fix people’s windows problems)….
….finally….you’ll figure it out….
Then….they’ll change it.
I sympathise with you on that as well. It is very difficult to get any kind of accurate account of links back to a doomain using there engine.
I also don’t understand why some sites will score differently with or without the www. I think google should wise up and treat both sites the same….I recall looking at one the other day and it was a difference of at least 2 points.

InactiveA couple of points – google backlinks and pagerank are seriously messed up and out of date at the moment… if you spend any time on a SEO message boards, it’s pretty evident that this is the case – so in terms of it only showing 1 backlink for you at the moment, I wouldn’t worry too much.
Another thing, when you search for backlinks in google (i.e. link:http://www.domain.com, search backlinks from the toolbar etc.) it only shows the links from pages with a PR of 4+ – so if pages with a lower PR exist to your site, they still count, they just won’t show up when you search for them.
…and Internal links count heaps – it’s debateable whether they count as much as external links, but they certainly count for something – which makes total sense, the larger the site, the more likely someone has put in an effort to get it that way, and the more likely it is to contain good information. On of the biggest tips professional SEO’s give out, is to add a page a content a day to your site… bigger is certainly better (particularly in terms of width of your site).
It’s all defiintely frustrating though – my site I launched two months ago doesn’t show any backlinks yet, despite over 200 results being returned when I do a search on the domain… I’m really hanging out for a major google update to backlinks and PR

vladcizsolMemberWe are going through a very frustrating period with Google right now. They began modifying their search and index algorythems in May and since that time the directory has been in a constant state of flux. Unfortunately, until they complete these damn changes we can’t really adapt to the new system.
Up until now Google was fairly consistent in their behavior and you could count on being indexed with a page rank 3 and a good number of back links within three months time. Since May that has gone out the window. It has negatively effected 90% of the webmasters I speak with and we are very upset with the changes.
Seemingly spammers and tricksters are getting the top spots for now during the transition period. The good news is I don’t think this will hold true after the dust settles and we get the “Final” Google package. I think at that time we will see Google reflect higher quality sites with true link popularity in their searchs. Until that happens all we can continue to do is build good sites, add quality content and exchange links wisely with relevant peers.

InactiveHow do you feel about page rank concerning www. and without www
One case in particular I know of the site is a five with www and a 1 without.
i personally have a few that are zeros with a www and 2’s without

vladcizsolMemberI believe it relates to how the internal and external links have been set up. IE if 100 of your external links point to
http://casinoaffiliateprograms.com
and 25 External links point to
http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com
then I would assume that the first url would have a higher PR. I believe this would also apply to internal links.
It’s just a theory and I could be wrong. Anyone else have any info on this?

InactiveProf,
I think you are EXACTLY right on that…HOWEVER, I think that Google (especially) should treat both domains as the same.
I would not accept any theories that they can not do this due to some people using sub-domains and alias’s for a domain name.
However, they would have to be a little careful so as not to hurt sub-domains rankings.

InactiveI agreed , http://www.777-best-online-casinos.com, works spammy and tricky and ………….. BUT …… He wants to trick Google , not us. It’s his own risk. Today he could be the first and tommorow nowhere.
Now let’s see what happened among us. Everybody knows such resourse as casinosportal.net and the huge amount of absolutly the same spammy sites. The owner of these sites – Janet. I think everybody exchange links with her. Pls take a time and go to these sites now. The link to link pages is in Javascript. I think I don’t have to explaine you that this is not readeable for Googlebot.
So, she exchanged links with everybody of us and then simply put Java = She has a lot of links , we nothing.
As for me I’ll delete all of her links tommorow from all of my sites without any notification.:baaa:

vladcizsolMember:shooter: I went over there to see what Casinoglobe was talking about and its almost like a virus when you open that site. Page after page are spawned and opened and you have to shut the process in task manager or it just gets worse and worse!!!!
Why in the world would anybody do this to a visitor to their site? If you somehow managed to lure someone there would they ever return?
I am relatively sure if the aff managers of the casinos being relentlessly popped up saw this they would object also as it ruins peoples perception of their casinos also. This is rediculous.

InactiveJust goes to show, one always need to check out the pages one exchanges links with.

Ouch….I don’t think I exchanged any links with her…That javascript business is for the birds…
As for http://www.777-best-online-casinos.com – it may be spammy, but the site “works”. I give the person credit for it.
It’s number 1 for “online casinos” and that’s a huge position.
I don’t think he’s running a cloak, but I think there are a TON of pages linked to each other on the site that the user never even bothers searching…only the search engines ferret out these pages, and Google seems to hold this in high regard…
Like Casinosglobe said, here today, gone tomorrow…perhaps…remember a site called : http://www.online-casinos-royale.com ? It held #1 for a while too, but suddenly disappeared…..

InactiveDid anyone notice, 9 out of the first 10 sites on Google search term “online casino” have theyre pagerank greyed out.
And all so they all serve these pop-up’s from hell, but if you take a closer look to these pop-up’s, you will see that they all point to each others website?!?
Isn’t that weird?

InactiveIf they have grey PR , probably they will be penalized shortly.
