XML Feeds
XML stands for eXstensible Markup Language. XML feeds are very common in affiliate programs to provide a unified platform to transmit and decipher data feeds. XML files are formatted with portions of code that resemble HTML markup, but each bracketed field represents a unique element of the feed. For instance, one element of a feed might be a product name, another may be product description, and another field may be product price. An affiliate can write custom software that pulls the XML feed in real-time from the affiliate program, which ensures that the correct information is always displayed on the site, and reduces the affiliates' time spent updating product information.
