RSS Feeds

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”, and is the standard format for content syndication across the web. RSS feeds allow you to provide snippets or entire articles through a standardized format. The main reason to syndicate your articles and website content is because there are pieces of software called “feed readers” which take a variety of feeds and display them in simple form for a user. Oftentimes, if an article catches a reader's eye, they will click through to the originating website, yielding a free source of traffic.
