A “blog” is short for “web-log”, which simply means an online journal or easy-to-update website. There are numerous blogging platforms on the web today, and there are even websites that will allow you to publish a blog for free. The key elements of a blog are simple functionality to create new posts, the ability for others to leave comments on your posts, and the ability to syndicate your posts through RSS feeds. The key advantage to most blogging platforms is that you can update the website through a web-interface, meaning you don't have to upload code or pages from a desktop computer. There are literally millions of blogs online today for nearly any topic, but some of the most successful bloggers make hundreds of thousands of dollars from their blogging.
