Taking a smart look at the growing cross-over between online poker and social gaming’s enormous popularity, PKR has announced the creation of a series of new social networking events for online poker players.
In what’s being described as community-style meet-ups, the new “PKR Social” events are designed “to give its four million strong poker community even more chances to meet the faces behind the avatars,” according to a PKR.com news release.
These “PKR Socials” will be held across the UK and Europe, with the series starting in Manchester just weeks from now on 26 February 26th. And, during this special event kick-off, “one hundred lucky players will get to attend a drinks reception followed by an evening of mixed martial arts at the BAMMA 5 bout featuring Tom ‘Kong’ Watson at the MEN Arena.”
The second PKR Social is modeled after the popular PKR Live events. “Held on the 25 and 26 March, the Fox Poker Club in London will play host to some fun and friendly poker action,” including a Friday night “Sit & Go Madness: tourney and a 150 runner $100 buy-in tournament on Saturday.
