Google’s ability to disrupt life for gaming affiliates is the stuff of legend. While the company tries, a little, to telegraph their big moves, they still manage to pull a few fast ones. Affiliates needn’t look any further than the Penguin update to see the power Google wields over the industry.

Now whether or not Google will continue to be such a big threat is a question that affiliates may see answered in 2013. Federal anti-trust regulators have been eyeballing Google for a long time and could crack down on them anytime.

Don’t be surprised to hear a few rounds of, “Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead,” from the affiliate world if that ever happens.
