Seventh Member For Team PKR Pro

Leading online poker site PKR.com has announced that Karl ‘discomonkey' Fenton has put pen to paper to become the seventh member of its recently formed Team PKR Pro.

Hailing from Caistor in the UK, Fenton began as a small stakes player while working towards a degree in finance before graduating to higher echelons of the game after only a few months.

Deciding to take a break from his studies in order to pursue a full-time poker career, he scored a breakthrough win in the PKR Sunday Classic in November to net $7,500. He then went on to rack up more than $200,000 in online tournament winnings over the next seven months including a triumph at the PKR Live II main event for $20,000.

The player is currently in Las Vegas taking part in the 40th World Series Of Poker (WSOP) tournament and will be attempting to bring home a winner's bracelet.

"Quite honestly, the first career I have ever been able to see myself making a real success out of was poker," said Fenton.

"It is something I have a deep interest in and something I have begun to make work. Hopefully, this opportunity with PKR.com will prove to be the springboard to a lifetime of success in the game. Why not start in Vegas?"

Current members of Team PKR Pro have already started strong at this year's WSOP with James ‘james666' Sudworth finishing seventh in Event 19 to take home $54,777 while Kai ‘KingKai84' Paulsen and Andrew ‘golfpro669' Teng have also recorded cashes.
