Republicans Playing Poker

August 25, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — The Poker Players Alliance has expanded its current political convention/charitable initiative (more on that here) by partnering with the influential American Gaming Association for the benefit of the Paralyzed Veterans of America — this time involving Republican poker players.

Following its fundraising effort planned for the Democratic Party's National Convention in Denver this week, the PPA has made plans for the Republican National Convention, too. Scheduled for September 3rd at 116 First Avenue North in Minneapolis, the initiative includes a VIP reception that will be held from 10:00pm until 10:30pm, followed by a charity poker tournament.

Those wishing to put up some serious sponsorship money and get involved in the PPA-AGA effort have some useful options:

A Royal Flush Sponsorship of $10,000 gets the sponsor eight tournament entries plus four spectator seats during the tournament. Full House Sponsors who lay down $5,000 get four tournament entries plus two spectator seats during the tournament. Individual Player seats are available at a thousand dollars a pop, while spectators only can get in at $250 a head.
