As the popularity of Texas Hold ‘Em soared to previously unheard of heights, Poker Stars was also experiencing unprecedented growth. Early in the year, Poker Stars Sunday No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em tournament hosted an unbelievable 2,556 players competing for half a million dollars in prizes. By the end of the year, the Sunday tournament was regularly seeing over 3,000 players.
In June of 2005 the Poker Stars broke through another ceiling when players passed the two billion hand mark.
