Antigua Opens the Door

Before online casino gambling was a multi-billion dollar business with outlets across the planet, it was a risky, underground venture that was anything but a guaranteed success.

Thanks to international legal pressures, few countries were willing to take a chance on this new type of casino – that’s when Antigua stepped up to the plate.

In 1994, legislators in the small Caribbean passed theĀ Free Trade & Processing Act. This simple piece of legislation opened the door to regulated gambling for the first time ever. Antigua would eventually pay a price for supporting online gambling but back in ’94, their future was so bright, they had to wear shades.
