When life hand you lemons, you’re advised to make lemonade. But making lemonade isn’t especially easy when you’ve had your livelihood pulled out from under you. That’s exactly what happened to professional poker player Shane Schleger a.k.a The Shaniac after Black Friday. But Shane didn’t take his new situation lying down.
Schleger took to Twitter and every other source he could find, including big time news sites like Slate, to tell the story of life as a poker refugee. With around 3,500 follower, his Twitter feed isn’t exactly in Ashton Kuchner territory, but it is a great example of how the medium can be used to market yourself to a niche audience.
