Well, you only have to take a quick look at Pokerstars’ backlink profile to see that they really have been at the top of the game with SEO for quite a long time. Aggressive would be one word, but not just in building the good links, but since Penguin they’ve clearly been quite aggressive in terms of clean up too. Understandably, the sheer size of Ladbrokes as a brand and the removal of their main rivals in the Black Friday indictments really has allowed them to sit pretty for a lot of terms in most major markets.

Their aggressive tactics have only been solidified by their staggering social presence and this is clearly not something that many of their competitors will be able to replicate quickly. With tens of thousands of social mentions every week, Google has little choice but to recognise them as the mega brand that they are. Whilst it is unlikely that any small scale business will be able to replicate that level of social interaction, it is proof that there is a market in social media to generate vast amounts of shares.
