November 26, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — Cereus Poker Network, owned by Tokwiro Enterprises and comprised of players from that Kahnawake company's two online poker rooms Absolute Poker and UltimateBet, has launched. And judging by initial attendance when InfoPowa checked the venue out — some 17,500 players around 1pm Eastern Standard Time — interest levels are high.

Both participating sites had earlier announced the completion of the transition to Cereus, which has been planned and designed from the ground up for the last year and was first announced in July 2008. The goal of the owner is to provide players of both brands with more features, bigger tournaments, and enhanced security.

Paul Leggett, Tokwiro's Chief Operations Officer, said: "With the proud launch of the unified network Cereus, our company is well placed to provide significantly better value and superior service to customers of both brands.

"We are dedicated to providing the ultimate online experience, and with Cereus we offer real value for every dollar our players put on the tables, and our unwavering commitment to security and fair play as the foundation of the new network."

With players from both online poker sites playing together at the same tables and in the same tournaments, Cereus starts life as one of the larger online poker communities. Online poker players at both sites will immediately notice larger tournaments with more players, frequent high-value Bad Beat Jackpots, more impressive guarantees, and better promotions, Tokwiro promises. New features added to the mix include new table views; downloadable table skins; the ability to create private tournaments; final table deal making; a rabbit cam; a timebank and avatars and personalization tools.

The new poker platform is backed by the latest technology and a 24/7 Security Center to deliver a watertight gaming experience for everyone at the tables.

Users of Ultimate Bet or Absolute Poker will need to download the newest version of the software to access Cereus. The update runs automatically when the program is opened and takes about two minutes to install.
