August 3, 2010 (CAP PR Wire) — 2010 was a breakthrough year for British poker, with UK players picking up five bracelets at the WSOP (a record for any country bar the host nation), making numerous WSOP final tables and taking down two EPT titles. Now players get the chance to honour their favourite UK players at poker’s very own BAFTA’s, The British Poker Awards.

The awards’ website is now up and running and offers players the chance to cast their vote for nominees in a variety of categories, including Best Cash Player, Best Tournament Player and Best Online Player. There’s also the opportunity to support their favourite poker league or cardroom. One Lucky voter will win a FREE ticket to the awards ceremony.

Voters can join the UK’s top players at this star-studded event at the newly opened Fox Poker Club. Tickets are £100 and include a cocktail reception and a gives players chance to meet their favorite poker stars. Following the Awards is an optional £50 NLH tournament.
