BetMGM is adding to its rapidly expanding portfolio of name brand partnerships after inking a deal with NASCAR to become their authorized gaming partner. Under the terms of the deal, BetMGM will be emphasizing in-race wagering, and a variety of content. It’s a big deal for the sport betting operator and puts it, pretty much, in a league all its own in terms of American sports betting.

According to published reports, BetMGM will use its platform to expand NASCAR’s pre-race and in-race wagering options. This will include the creation of multiple new categories of in-race wagers for stock car racing fans. The company will also be developing a NASCAR-branded mobile racing game for the storied race organization.

In a statement reported on by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Scott Warfield, NASCAR’s managing director of gaming crowed about the deal saying, “We’re excited to have such an iconic brand on board to expand our offerings and deepen our engagement with the most passionate fans in sports.”

On the MGM side of the deal, Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief marketing officer said, “BetMGM’s unparalleled betting technology combined with NASCAR’s iconic races will create a superior betting experience for racing fans all over the United States.”

The NASCAR deal is a really sweet one for BetMGM and MGM CEO Bill Hornbuckle said as much in a recent call to investors. He told the gathered Wall Street types that BetMGM would position the company as the leading American sportsbook.

BetMGM and NASCAR’s partnership is scheduled to start in 2021.
