888 is entering the real money Facebook gambling space with a UK-facing bingo product called Bingo Appy, with other casino games to follow. The new operation will be run by Myopia, 888’s social gaming group.
Bingo Appy, will be the second real money gambling Facebook app to hit UK joining Gamesys’ Bingo and Slots Friendzy. Both Gamesys and 888 operate under Gibraltar gaming licenses and are compliant with UK gambling regulations, including age restrictions.
888’s COO Itai Freiberger was understandably excited when discussing the new product in a press release:

Our Facebook freemium offerings have found a significant audience, and we are very excited by the opportunity money gaming on Facebook provides. We are working closely with Facebook ensuring we introduce the best of both worlds of real money and social gaming.
Real money Facebook gambling has the potential to revolutionize the online gaming industry and the UK is leading the charge. There’s little doubt that a flood of other igaming companies will follow Gamesys and 888 into this market space.
If the UK experiment proves successful there’s little question that it will be imported to the burgeoning US online poker market.
