10 Lessons from Phil Ivey
7. Nobody’s perfect
Most sources agree that Ivey is one of the best poker minds on the planet, but that doesn’t mean he’s perfect. In the PCA 2013, Ivey’s loose defense against Doc Sands went horribly wrong. How bad did it all wind up? Ivey himself went all Yoda by saying, “So stupid, I am.”
So when you’re having a tough day and you’ve just sent out an e-mail newsletter with ten typos and generally don’t feel like you’re worth a darn, you’ve got company. You need to remember that no matter how great you are at what you’re doing, you’ll still make mistakes. Just don’t be too hard on yourself and press on with your business. If Ivey can make mistakes, you can too.
