Non Web businesses -Opportunity to share whats hot

Hard to summarize my idea in the title so if I got you going this far im looking good! My idea is simple - I see businesses in my local area and say "Why didnt I think of that" or "I would have never thought that would be a money maker" and of course its too late at this point to open one of these. So my thoughs are to tell you guys and of course hear back on these same great ideas in all areas. If we all can explain a great business that is local, that can be a great business to one of us outside your area.

Things that make it big by me.

- Pump It Up - Party Center for kids that is an indoor place using the inflatable rides like sldes, jumping, obsticle course. Its always packed!

- Gormet Cupcake shop - Ok this one got me, they make expensive cupcakes and do very well. They even are replacing traditional cakes at weddings and large events by offering multiple flavors of very high quality.

I know there are morte but these two stand out right now. If you have anything you *wish* you would have started before someone else let me know as I may be able to do it here!

A website called "I wish I started that" listing all the businesses that are not to hard to set up and have become sucessful sure to get alot of hits. Why dont you do that?

I wish I had had the money to get in on some McDonalds franchises in prime big city locations. If you have one of those you have to make sure you buy a big vault for all the cash otherwise it will burst pretty quickly.

that seems so overdone, but of course they are all moneymakers. Im looking for things with a smaller startup cost, and really no franchise fee's

Tutoring targeting low income Charter School kids, government pays

car sharing business.

I have 2 similar ideas but am wondering if they would work.
Probably not but I like to tell them.

A cinema with big arm chairs in.
Not the usual chairs where you can't sit comfortable.
Big arm chairs. And small tables for drinks and food.

Another idea is a pub or bar with big arm chairs and sofas in.
An inventory like in a living room to feel real comfortable in.

I am not sure if this would be profitable but it would be nice.

cat they have had such a theatre in toronto for many years , down in the hazelton lanes /yorkville area where all the rich people live.My friend and i went there about 11 years ago ,they bring a card that you check your snacks that you want to purchase and they bring them to you.No worry about trying to carry all that food.back then i think it cost the two of us about $60.00 for movie and snacks.

An elite search engine. Unfortunately this one is financially extremely demanding.

The idea is to gather all the very best sites online on all the different topics and make a deal with them. If they block the google, yahoo, etc bots we pour a ton of money into publicly advertising them.

Sites would have to be hand picked and only be available in our search.

One could flood the media with ads poiting out how this is a one stop search engine and listing individual sites, rotating them.

It would only work if one could have the funds to advertise solidly for a couple of years, major publications, TV etc etc. Go all in.

Limited funds would kill this in no time.

Ok, so it's probably impossible.

heres one i found out about recently and have been waiting for this to come out for ages.

I'm lazy when it comes to shopping and cooking (when single that is - as shopping / cooking is ok if your doing it for more then one person + you share the duties normally) - so i have takeaways quite alot, well im so bored of chinese, indian or pizza.

So this new company set up a relationship with about 40 local restaurants and uploaded there entire menues online. I can now order a takeaway from any of the 40 resturants = million times better choice now. This company charges you £4.50 and they order on your behalf, pick it up and deliver it to you.

Now making £4.50 per delivery wont make your business rich, but i bet they also get a 20% cut of the bill too as now the restaurants will be glad for the new takeaway orders and business and not have to employ a driver etc

Of course this business model will only suit certain areas

also you can buy sweets / drinks / tobacco and other stuff from them which they stock themselfs.
