Is anyone getting a lot of pretty identical looking requests for link exchanges recently. basic format is;

Hello,

My name is xxxxx and I am the webmaster of http://www.websitename.com.

I am looking for new websites to add to our directory so that our visitors may browse through interesting sites. I've found your website as a great resource on the web and added it to my online directory, You can find it at the following URL:
http://www.websitename.com/links-onl...er-poker_2.htm

I would really appreciate if you would post a link back to my site using the information at the bottom of this email.
Once you have done so, please specify the location of the reciprocal link URL at the below address:

http://www.website.com/applink.asp?c=I08jIk02jsIS

This will make sure that the link I installed to your web site on http://www.xxxxxxxx.com/links-online-poker-poker_2.htm would remain there permanently. If you do not specify the reciprocal link URL within 7 days, the link to you will be removed automatically.

*** Please note that you can also change your link title and text to the one you best see fit when specifying the reciprocal link URL back to us.

Below is the information needed to link to us:

Site URL: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Site Title: xxxxxxxxxxx
Site Description: xxxxxxxxxxxx

Or use below HTML code:

<a href="http://www.xxxxxxxxx.com">xxxxxx</a> - xxxxxxxxxxx

If we have got the wrong person please forward this email to your webmaster or links coordinator so that he/she can deal with our request.

Thank you for your partnership.
I seem to be getting a lot recently, always to webmaster@ which isn't an email that is on my site at all. Have I unwittingly got myself onto some kind of link database or something? Is it an automated programme?

Thanks

Arn
