You know Prof, in Canada, extortion is illegal. I think you can file a criminal complaint and have them jailed. That is simply unacceptable behavior.

Some people are truly twisted. Maybe they should view thier business model before launching anything like this.
As for discussing this with Canadian officials, i dont think that's going to get you anywhere. The RCMP is not known for thier investigation skills.

People that do this kind of **** ought to have their asses kicked; so if you find somebody in their neighborhood willing to do just that; I toss $25 towards it.

Thanks guys. I think the RCMP or Vancouver Police would have a field day with this one as it's so blatant. I will give whole story once we have located the actual persons involved. This shouldn't be very difficult as they gave a Bank of America account number as one of the wire transfer options plus a phone number to fax confirmation of the wire.
These are obviously not the sharpest knives in the drawer here.
I like BB1s and Melanies idea though and would love to do that as well.
