To have a professional writer do good content is not cheap. The fellow I know writes for a major newspaper, lottery corperations, and other freelance writing. He has been doing it for at least 30 years. He is truly a gifted writer and public speaker.Greek39

I thought good quality content would be worth a bit more than that. I mean, those prices are fine for someone who doesn't know what he's talking about, but for those prices you may as well use your articles for your own site. Content is the backbone to your site, so..

I am not looking for syndicated writers or articles.

I want exclusive writing, and I have enough to do to keep several people busy.

In other words, I don't want to share writers. If you come on board with me, you will have more than enough work and it will be long term. And I have more than one position.

I had no idea this would spark this much interest, but that's a good thing.

It all depends on what you want. I asked him to write an article about online poker costed me $125.00 for one page 500 words. I was blown away at his writing skills. Very little stop words. what he said in 500 words most would use 1000 words. I gave him instructions, such as draw the visitor in with the article ect... This is something worth paying for. greek39

The writer I am referring to does exclusive writing. He does not copy other content it would be 100% unique.

To some degree you will get what you pay for. There are also many who have no idea what the true value of a quality original artilce is. If you have an established site and can buy an article for $100, put it on your site and be listed within a short time in the top 10 for just one decent search term contained in that article, then you have made a killing. The true value of the article will be much higher than $100. If you have a new site and/or it sucks, it may not matter how good the article is, it may never rank. So there are many things to consider. Yes you can buy content for cheap, but for the most part it will not do you a tremendous amount of good. You can also buy expensive content that sucks, so you have to be careful.

I believe I know who gave you those prices Mark / Focal and if so, she has stopped writing. From what I have seen though, she was not bad at all. She was not charging enough.

It's not a big secret that I write poker content, and I charge .20 a word. If I have to sell it for less, then it is more valuable to me to put it on my own sites. My proof of value is when something I have written for someone shows up in the top ten for a decent phrase. This happens often and these webmasters don't mind paying because they have had the value proven to them. Many people won't ever pay this type of money for an article, and that is fine, but until I run out of work, that or higher, will be the charge.

BTW, Pokermonger now writes my poker content and has been for some time and will continue to do so as long as he likes.

Mason from Two Plus Two Publishing pays $200 for a 1000 word article that gets published in their monthly online magazine. The article is taken down from the site after 3 months and the rights are then returned to the author. (!)

The guy who charges $125 for 500 words seems reasonable provided he writes high quality original content.

Paying for articles to use for affiliate sites is kinda like a CPA model. You pay the writer a one time fee and one of you is going to make a jackpot. Either you suck at SEO and make no money from the article or the article results in you getting a whale and then the writer loses.

Really good writers should consider starting a site themselves.

The lady who sold content for $35/1k words was either selling garbage or just really really dumb.

Consider www.playwinningpoker.com - Rumors are that Mr. Badger rakes in $1 million per month in commission. Why would he sell pages to you guys for $100 a piece?
