Does somebody here have experience with purchasing links from high PR sites.
Is it worth it?
Some link brokers have such offers.
500 $ looks like a lot of money for a link.November 7, 2005 at 2:10 pm #675836AnonymousInactiveand thsi folks want $500/month for a link
:eh:
November 7, 2005 at 2:19 pm #675837vladcizsolMemberA year or so ago it might have made sense to purchase a PR8 link for $500 per month, but certainly not now. Google no longer provides a boost large enough enough to warrant that expense based on PR alone. The days of a PR8 link making your site a PR7 are long gone.
Google now tends to view high pr links as “purchased” and of less value then they did in past. You would be much better off purchasing three or four PR6 links or ten PR5 links.
November 7, 2005 at 2:29 pm #675838AnonymousInactiveIs it ok to have such links from any site?
November 7, 2005 at 2:33 pm #675839vladcizsolMemberYes its ok to have links. Does it make sense from an ROI (return on investment) standpoint? Not in my oppinion, but there are variables like whether the site is considered a Gambling authority site that may make it a risk that many would take. I personally wouldnt do it though.
November 7, 2005 at 3:10 pm #675844AnonymousInactiveI have found all links from link brokers totally useless.
As far as worthy links from within the industry – as far as I know there are no very high PR links for sale.
There are some nice lower PR ones.
I agree with the professor – as far as ROI is concerned, I don’t think it makes any difference.
November 7, 2005 at 5:56 pm #675855AnonymousInactiveIf the link isn’t related to gambling, I wouldn’t even bother. Google seems to be discounting any links not related to your site. However, if the site is a PR8 and gambling related, then it may be worth it for the traffic plus a bit of PR boost. I haven’t seen any gambling related sites rank that high though, PR6 seems to be about as high as you can go in this industry.
November 7, 2005 at 10:34 pm #675872AnonymousInactiveI did this for the last several months….
I had two PR0 sites… One was 4 months older than the other. On the oldest site I bought a couple of PR7/8 site links.
That site with the purchased links became a PR3. The other which I gathered my own links from quality sites is PR4.
Don’t know if that was the determining factor… but the real point is that it WASN’T a factor

November 8, 2005 at 7:30 pm #675937AnonymousInactiveYes, you will loose PR if your site looses it’s links.
