In my younger days I had a very brief “horticultural” phase . . . if you know what I mean . . . and I remember a lot of the sites I frequented would have some kind of language like . . . The information on this website is provided for entertainment purposes only . . . Don’t break the law . . . etc. etc.

How much protection would you figure a disclaimer like this would offer the casino-webmaster just in case any prickly legal issues ever arose? I guess its all basically speculation when the law is so grey.

Anyone doing stuff like this already?

I have disclaimers on my sites. It can’t hurt to at least have a warning but at the same time might be worthless. Good question you brought up, but very tough to answer.

I definitely recommend you do that.

It can’t hurt and does show that you have some concern for your site visitors. There should be some sort of legal leg to stand on if you have a decent disclaimer, all of the large corporations have them to protect themselves from lawsuits, seems logical that it would work for our industry as well.

I’ve also been considering adding a link to Gamblers Anonymous and registering with a content rating service. It’s all about being a responsible citizen, or something like that.
