    Hello All,

Can anyone reccomend a good site translation tool? A lot of the free ones I have tried – Translate for example – How are you today – to “today you, good all”

Or something similar that is not a proper translation into the selected language.

I use an advserver to probably target my ads by country which is good for response to users from different countries but I want to add to the user experience by adjusting the language as I get players globally – for good accurate translation tools I dont know where to start.

Paying for a good tool is fine with me if it does the job correctly

The languages I am interested in are Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Japanese Chinese (simplified or non simplified)

    All suggestions really appreciated

    Cheers

    Chockee

My suggestion would be to hire a translator. I don’t think a computer program is going to give you a good translation, especially not if you have a content-rich site.

Take it from one who used to run a translation/interpretation etc. service in another lifetime.

I fiddled quite a bit with computerized translations and they are not worth a :bullshit:

Not even if you only have 5 words to translate.

There are lots if inexpensive translation services online – or you can try elance. Make sure you see a couple of samples and the language is good.

I would go with a translation service – and pick a translator who only does two languages. Your target language should be his/her native language.

So if you want it in Korean, chinese and German, you need 3 translators, one born in Korea, one in the Chinese speaking area you want to target, and one who was born in Germany.

Don’t take the rates as carved in stone – you can negotiate. The more you order, the cheaper it should get.

I don’t think you would get a good tool that would translate accurate for you.

    Take Google for example.

They offer a translation feature on their site and they are a well established big money earner company and their translation tool also is not accurate.

Thanks for all the responses. I just saw the prices for translation were excessive by some providers. But I would rather do the job correctly

Translations have gone way down in price because the world has gotten so much smaller – especially online.

They are still an investment, but if you have a good number of visitors from your target area they are well worthwhile.

No translation is better than a bad translation though.
