I’ve been an affiliate for over 10 years now, from time to time I’ve been paid wrong amounts. If it’s to little I complain and get the difference paid, if it’s to much I’ve always been told “sorry our mistake, keep the money”
But today I received an e-mail regarding my account at Norskespill’s affiliate program IGamingAffiliates
Basically they told me that they had “forgot” to add an “admin fee” to the affiliate system, and that they had to add this fee to previous payments that they had made as well as on future payments. They basically asked to be paid back 31% of all money they had paid me since I started promoting them in March this year.
This smells fishy to me, what do you guys think, and what would you do?
It seems odd that they would ask that you pay back 31% of the earnings that you made,
due to their own accounting error. Maybe you should ask them for additional information
about this “admin fee”. The term “admin fee” is sometimes used loosely to cover just about
anything, so it would be interesting to hear the reason for the fee and why they forgot it.
