I am going to diversify out a little bit to get the majority of my eggs out of just Party’s basket. Any feedback from you guys on conversions promoting Empire or UB? I have affiliate accounts with both but have never really done any aggressive marketing of either. Thanks for the feedback.

Ultimate Bet converts well for me and the player value is good. I can’t speak for Empire, because I’m not promoting them yet.

since Empire uses the partypoker plattform, it might be good to promote UltimateBet, just so not everything is dependent on how party does. Empire is just a skin for party, so if users don’t like party, they should not like empire. Therefore, when chosing UltimateBet, you will have two programs totally independent from each other.
I can’t say anything about conversions or player values though for either poker room!

That is like nite and day, Empire converted like crap for us for almost two years and as most already know here, they screwed us out of what little money we sould of made there.

UB is by far a better converter for us, we do 4 figures monthly with them on a regular basis. They are our #2 converter.

    Ellen,
How did Empire screw you out of some cash? If there’s already a thread, can you point me to it. I currently promote Empire and certainly don’t want to get screwed. Thanks.

    acekicker,

i promote empirepoker and have done very well with them. they pay me around the 8th or 9th of the month into my empirepoker account and then i transfer that to neteller. my conversion ratio for empirepoker is twice that of partypoker. not sure why though. i would not worry about getting “screwed.” when they first started out, payments were slow…but they have picked up the pace somewhat.

also, empirepoker (via http://www.tradal.net) pays me 25% regardless of what i make. on the other hand, partypoker needs the MGR to exceed $10,000 before they give you 25%, otherwise you get 20%.

It was Tradal actually that screwed us.

You’ll have to ask one of the mods here or Lou to find the threads, Dean and I posted all the details and facts over 6 months ago in the private forums and I’ve just searched every which way possible and can’t find it.

Long story short, we had a site http://www.empireofpoker.com (it’s not redirected to one of our rooms) which for a year was a front to Empire Poker with Tradal links. After many months of seeing no profit at all, when all other rooms we promote were getting dozens of real money players monthly, we emailed Tradal (Shai)

It appears that when you clicked on any of the download links on the site it was being redirected to another affiliate’s download link. Now we were first told that it was impossible that it was redirected, we must of done something on our end. Yet, when we set up this site, all links worked fine….we can’t possibly redirect a link that is originally an Empire Poker link, that would mean we had access to Empire Poker logins on the server ?????

After bitching and taking down all links, banners and redirecting our site to our new room, we were told “this is weird, do you know this guy?”….(the affiliate it was being redirected to) we said, NOOOOOOO then we were told that even if those downloads were credited to this mystery affiliate, he only had 2 sign ups so they would pay us for 2 players. LMFAO! We sent over 10,000 targeted poker players to that site, I DON’T THINK SO!

Now, they’re trying to say they’ll pay us $1000 bonus once we send them 10 players, no fricking way.

All details are in a thread somewhere…..any ideas Lou or mods where it went?

I don’t trust Tradal with anything……….my opinion only but it’s a VERY strong one.

    EllenIng,

I believe you. A while back, whenever I clicked on my links it was also redirected to:
    http://www.empirepoker.com/index.htm?wm=1700000

They own that affiliate ID. That is when I got rid of the links on my page and only posted Bonus Codes to prevent this thievery.

Ours went to an affil ID owned by someone else, not Empire, from what we know….whether it’s intentional or not, they obviously have tracking issues that need to be solved. At least we now know why it was one of the only poker rooms making us no money.

I **so** agree with the previous comments about Tradal, who IMO are a cowboy operation. Nice enough on the phone but boy do they skim. Stay well clear of them.

I spoke to operators at GIGSE who had their casinos with them who were hugely apologetic but, interestingly, have not as yet pulled their programs from them.

    My view is:

    – If you do well out of Empire just now make sure it is on a CPA not a rev share deal if you stick with them.

    – If you are promoting the other brands there, go direct to the operators. e.g. Casino on Net until recently didnt do their own inhouse program and relied on some decidely sketchy operations e.g. housewinnings (defunct) and tradal to run their affiliate programs. Now CoN has a very strong in house program so there is no need to go via Tradal.

thanks for this thread … its actually the reason why i signed up for this board. i was searching around trying to find confirmation for certain gut feelings that i was having about empirepoker.

i have them as well as partypoker on a certain site of mine that gets excellent targeted traffic. the creatives all got equal mileage on the main page but partypoker was convert 3 or sometimes 4 times more players than empire. i just couldn’t believe the players weren’t that interested in empire.

anyhow, i’d like to signup for this ultimatebet .. is this – http://www.ultimatebet.com/promotions/refer.html – the link to their affiliate program? it seems more like a refer-a-friend, not an affiliate program, hence the question.

    Antonym,
You can sign up for the Ultimate Bet affiliate program at Income Access.

Regarding EmpirePoker, is there anything we can do about their alledged skiming? I have lots of players with them that I worked very hard to get. Hearing about all this shady stuff makes my blood boil. Can we get their affiliates manager to address some of our concerns.

What I don’t fully understand is why a recognized casino/poker room would risk cheating their affiliates. (I don’t know how widespread this is but I’ve heard numerous stories.) I can understand why the smaller fly-by-nite casinos would do this (that’s why I don’t promote them), but find I it very un-wise for a larger casino to cheat their affiliates. A company like EmpirePoker problably makes hundreds of millions every year. Would they risk their reputation to skim from affiliates? I hope not, but I am a little concerned.
