    HI,

I spent last week in SF at the GiGse conference. I have been to a couple of others and this one was packed. First the good news. Social Casinos are getting funded and making money. The big topic for them was customer acquisition. I mentioned it was time to pay affiliates more if you want more customers. Until now, this was a no. But with the hyper competitive segment and a lot of money to be made (and paid back to investors) I got a maybe instead of no. This **** will hit the fan when more and more competitors go live and they are all chasing the same customers. So keep a watch on social casinos and better affiliate programs.

Now the outright bad news. California is looking at Nevada’s licensing of affiliates as the standard to use. I asked California regulators directly and I couldn’t get anything other than “deliberative” and “high standards” answer. But listening to all of the regulators it became obvious that none of them would be willing to do less than Nevada out of a need to prevent “bad actors” into the state. :nervous:
