Working & Traveling- Is It Realistic?
Not too sure... The beauty of Internet Marketing is the fact that it is a "mobile" business and you can make your own hours. But, isn't the purpose of traveling and vacationing to enjoy your surroundings and re-charge your batteries from work?
Who's able to maintain a balance and keep up with work while traveling? Or, do you feel like it's not very realistic and too much falls off while you're "away"? - 02-07-2012 12:48 PM #2Senior Member

I know I can't work while traveling. About all I do is emails.
First off, I don't like editing on a laptop. I have 2 - 27" split screens that make everything easy to see and move around.
2nd, is getting into a routine. It's very hard to do on the road.
That being said, I do think I could work from a different location if I were to be there for a long time. I would just set up an iMac with everything I would need. - 02-07-2012 03:00 PM #3Senior Member

I do it all the time. I was away from home 9 months in 2011.
My routine is simple... during daylight hours I travel, once the sun goes down i work. So i might do something like seeing an attraction or hiking from 9am to 4 pm and then work until 11pm. Smaller work days means less money... but the point of money is to enjoy life so for me it's worth it. - 02-08-2012 12:59 PM #5Senior Member

Only problem on this is that most hotels have very bad internet connections.. Nothing worse then slow speeds, except the high daily internet connection price tag.. Remember once in spain paying around 29 euros a day for internet..
GOOGLE HATES ME!!!

That is a huge problem... most places in North America have free good internet... the worse country for internet I found is Australia, outside of the major cities it's tough and they charge ridiculous rates... i got charged over $100 for a night once because i forgot outlook express on and it downloaded email (they charge by bandwidth) other places its hit or miss, Central America has had fairly reliable internet for me, Europe was hit or miss, South Africa was decent (and that was a long time ago)

I was thinking in traveling and working at the same time, but at least Paypal blocks the access if you access from a different country than the registered in your account. I think Neteller and Moneybookers do the same. It is difficult to manage without these accounts.

My experience with Neteller is that you should always let them know if you are logging in from abroad - then it's no problem. Have never had this problem with pp or mb, but actually would prefer neteller's security solution.
Another problem while travelling in countries like France and Italy (and perhaps soon Denmark) is that some sites are blocked by operators or authorities...
