Default What was the first Search Engine you ever used?

For me, it was Yahoo!... circa 1994/1995- I think?!?

Me too. Yahoo! is the first search engine I ever used, but I didn't like it. I thought it gave really weird results lol Hotbot.com was my favourite search engine after that, and I kept using it until Google got into the market

At my School A can vaguely remember that we were encouraged to use Lycos for some strange reason. I am sure it was the default engine.

I used many and not sure which was the first but I remember Yahoo, AltaVista, Excite, and Hotbot - I probably used Excite most because I think it was my ISPs default search engine.

Totally forgot about Excite! Wow... Forever ago!

And... what happened to Alta Vista? Forgot that I would use Alta Vista, too!

I remember day trading Infoseek back in the 1990's, made about $1500 in about 2 hours.
But I used all the search engines mentioned, in which order is hard to say.
