Default Why You Should Test Every Insane Idea

Renowned SEO Expert, Scott Polk, recently shared Why You Should Test Every Insane Idea in an article:
Scott Polk on Big Brand SEO vs Affiliate Efforts

I have to say, I agree... You just don't know until you test something out. Track your EVERYTHING you do so if your idea fails, it fails quickly.

Just curious...What's the most insane idea that you've ever implemented in your SEO strategy, or for your business in general, and it actually worked?

    Default Crack boom pow!

Someone recently told me that he used "Crack, Boom, Pow!" as the subject line for an email campaign once, and it had one of the most successful open rates!

Not *insane* by any means, but definitely proof that you never know if something will work until you try it!

Its good to have a few sites that aren't important, that way you can perform SEO experiments and not worry. The last thing you want to do is risk your main site, especially if it goes back in the serps. You never really know what works unless you test it out, or someone else tests it out and tells you the results
