Guys, I met with Grand Prive today.

We had a long talk and several things came to light and I think we have solved the issue.

I had long figured that the legacy players from referspot were missing in the ecogra audit. Everyone who complained that they were not compensated said that the monies owed were from legacy players.

We narrowed it down to a difference in tags between the old and new systems, and that when ecogra was presented with the numbers, the old type tags had not been pulled by the program used. (the numbers came from microgaming, not Grand Prive itself).

Grand Prive wants to reimburse the remaining unpaid affiliates.

Since microgaming holds all the old stats (if they still have them) and Grand Prive has zero access since they moved software, these reimbursements will have to be figured on the basis of affiliate income.

So Grand Prive will go back and examine the previous income of unpaid affiliates and reimburse on that basis, since the legacy player tags are not to be found. As one of the affected affs myself, I find this to be acceptable. One can assume that players who have players since the referspot days continued at the same rate

They also said they will look at players in their new software and find the ones still playing there and retag them to the original affiliates and pay for them – retroactively to when they started playing on the new software.

I doubt this will yield much, I know my players would have quit on the new software. Also, legacy tags will not be possible to match since they are gone. It is a good faith offer though and affiliates with Grand Prive tags, not Referspot ones, will benefit.

Anyway, this is a huge thing, I feel quite good about it all.

Hopefully guys like bwin won’t take this long to come in from the cold. There is a lesson to be learned for affiliate programs.

I hope they don’t expect us to jump back on their ship and start promoting again .We wrote off the money ,removed them from our sites and that is the way it will stay.

I think each case will be handled seperately and with personal contact.

Now, if you did not file a claim when they asked people to file a claim back when ecogra did the audit, I suggest you leave a note here that you failed to claim.

I am not sure what will happen with that, but I will do my best to get you in the mix after all this time.

If you have filed a claim when asked, they will contact you personally to work things out.

No offense but to create a title for this thread called “Grand Prive – Solved” I feel is a bit premature don’t you think? I am not sure why that term was used.

It certainly is not solved for many affiliates. Only when everyone is satisfied should it considered solved or close to everyone. All we have now is speculation that they want to come clean.

I do not see affiliates being paid up already and there is still them needing to publicly make a post at least to explain what mistakes they made and come clean with the industry.

That is the least they can do to be honest since they screwed many affiliates all over.

Really do you think this is solved?

Dom, I think it is great that you met with these guys to try and sort out the problems, but I must admit that I am not as optimistic as you. I met with them about a year or so ago and wasted 2 hours with them while they pretty much told me the same thing they have told you in your meeting…and what did they do…. Absolutely Nothing!
I hope you have better joy than I had…..

I was a little shocked to see this thread title!

    Anyway, I’d have to say:

    1. No one really promoted Grand Prive, we all got screwed from when it stopped being called Referspot, so any failing to count Referspot earnings means this is insincere and not seriously worth any time discussing.

    2. Its been so long, any attempt to right this _must_ see interest paid.

    3. If ReferSpot numbers are gone, I’m happy to dig up my last month’s earnings on ReferSpot and use these as the basis for figuring out what I’m owed. If they don’t have the data, any errors this creates aren’t our fault. At this point I’m far past worrying about exact dollars and cents to be frank.

    4. Grand Prive’s attempts to solve all this have been so insincere that along with their bad faith in doing this in the first place, there should prior to anyone getting too excited about anything or discussing with them much further be an amount of money put into escrow to show good faith on their part.

Great Work Dom! Hope your efforts helps in resolving this issue.

Guys I see it this way, the program didn’t pay you for years and someone tries to negotiate a settlement for you. So first let’s be thankful to Dom :)

Whether this issue has been settled or not will be evident in next few weeks after everyone that had outstanding dues publish their feedback. If you are able to recover your payables, take what you can first. You can always comeback and say if you haven’t been paid in full or satisfied with the settlement.

    my 2 cents …

I still see old title this morning .I was feeling the same way as you Steve and I think it is great if they pay out some more money but I will promote Gambling Wages AND BWIN before I place them on my sites again. And IMO they are no different .I would say they are finally feeling the pain of our joint efforts and really ready to say anything to get some slack from the affiliate community.

I had added a bunch of questionmarks to the title, so it became a question rather than a statement.

We’ll have to see what happens next…

    Hi Dom,

Thank you for taking the time to talk to them. Did they say why they are only now interested in paying up for missing legacy players? I’m sure eCOGRA had been made aware of the missing legacy players problem when affiliates weren’t satisified with the audit results. Many of us spoke out and voiced our feelings about legacy players being omitted.

Can you tell us who you spoke to?

I realize it’s only been a few days, but if they’re serious they should make their intent known with some kind of communication to us right away.

I really do appreciate the time and effort you put into this Dom. But as far as Grand Prive making good on this…… I’m NOT holding my breath.

They are under new management and at the beginning of the conversation they seemed to be clueless re. legacy players.

They did recall the issues switching over from referspot to the microgaming platform (microgaming did that, and I was shown internal memos re. that issue that confirmed what they said). They assumed that this was where the problem was. But that is not the case and we went over all of what happened after that until we nailed it down to problem tags.

I figured (and they considered this a strong possibility) that whatever program Microgaming had used (the whole micro aff playform is still under development and it is conveivable they were experimenting with “improving” it using the old, abandoned GP platform) to present stats to ecogra failed to grab the old time tags from referspot. That would not be on purpose, but IMO microgaming should have had the decency to recheck all this when the ecogra audit didn’t bring the results that affiliates expected. I did communicate my suspicions at the time to ecogra.

These legacy tags are now completely missing, and it is microgaming who may or may not have access to them.

However, there is no love lost between Micro and GP since GP moved to a new platform. So these tags are forever gone, unless micro voluntarily steps forward and supplies them. Fat chance, IMO.

But – since these are long term players who had played for years and years, it stands to reason they were continuing pretty much at the same rate. And the comission reports are available to GP.

So they can reimburse on that basis, assuming that play by these long term players continued at the same rate.

Not perfect of course, but it will be a lot closer to what is actually owed. The calculation this way may actually end in our favor.

The vast majority of affs were paid off, it is the older affs with old player bases with referspot tags that haven’t been.

So, for now that’s all I know, they have work to do and should be contacting individuals soon.

So, I lay the blame probably equally with Microgaming and GP. Microgaming screwed up and failed to correct things. GP failed to communicate properly with affiliates. If either one of the two had acted differently, it would never have come to this. eCOGRA reported what they saw, as they should in an audit. I don’t see the fault there.
