    Hey,

I am interesting promoting the LottaRewards online lottery brands and wanted to know
    more about the legal aspects.

Is it possible to promote such activity within the US? What differences does promoting lottery
    has comparing to online casinos?

    Hi Prestige,

Thanks for the question! Lottery tickets can only be purchased legally by people residing in the country where the lottery is organised, PlayHugeLottos.com thus purchases all tickets and retains them there locally. The transaction is therefore entirely handled by a legal entity within each country.

When a client orders tickets on the PlayHugeLottos.com sites, they enter into a separate service agreement with them, which is similar to calling a relative or friend in the country where the lottery is taking place and asking that they enter a line on your behalf. You might give your friend the numbers you want, but essentially the ticket is bought by your friend and will have to be claimed by your friend if there are any winnings due.

In summary, a client is therefore not directly taking part in a lottery, but rather ordering a service from PlayHugeLottos – similar to a courier service. That is the arrangement between the client and PlayHugeLottos, which remains separate to the function where the legal entities purchase and hold the lottery tickets. Our opinion is therefore that a US based webmaster would not be breaking any law.

Promoting lottery is pretty different to casino I think. Casino has instant gratification for players which may promote bigger spend whereas with lottery you are selling tickets into draws that happen only a few times a week. That being said, success is certainly possible in terms of financial reward if you manage to get it right. It’s also something that can be offered to casino players as an alternative without cannibalism.

Hope that has helped answer your question. You can also reach me on paul@lottarewards.com

    Hey Paul,

Thank you for your answer. I feel more confident now regarding how the lottery affiliation
    works.

I must say your brand looks very inviting and promoting lottery brands is some thing Im interested in. There is a major obstacle the way I see it.. Which is still legislation.

I now fully understand that it is most likely that I can accept European players for example
but am I still in doubt as of where can I legally promote a lottery affiliation site.

I know there are specific rules in terms of PPC/Offline media for example.
If you can drop me a line explaining the rules for such activities, It might influence my mind.

Hope to hear form you soon.

    Hi Prestige,

Great, thanks for the interest and compliment!

It would be legal to promote online anywhere in the world, we have affiliates from all over the globe.
In terms of PPC though it would be a different story! I know Google for instance does not allow any lottery related adverts on their adwords, although having said that many affiliates and companies seem somehow to circumvent this. I see Google Ads with lottery content running all over the show.
So I am not sure how seriously this is taken by Google.

In terms of promoting offline, I believe as long as you are not selling physical lottery tickets offline you are OK. Most countries have laws prohibiting the operation of private lotteries offline. As mentioned in my first post though, you would merely be promoting a delivery service so you would not be contravening any laws I know about.

Please feel free to contact me on paul@lottarewards.com for further queries or concerns.

    Best regards
