Your Right but.........
yes twitter is no-follow, however I also mean in general!
no-follow links still add to your reputation as a site etc and in effect the twitter page has more authority than the Gambling Portal it represents.......
Does this mean good things for the future of my gambling portal / a marketing tool that works and leads to sales ?
Does it mean that it will lead to a boom of traffic from people that stumbles across your page in search engines ?:-

IMHO, I don't think so. don't count on traffic from twitter. since we opened our page a couple of month ago we didn't see ANY change in traffic.

ummm!
I think twitter itself is not a very good traffic generator itself however my point is that the page is in Googles eyes more valuable than the Gambling Portal it represents..........
This also means that the twitter page (mine) is more likely to show is searches rather that my portal!
I am questioning whether this will in-turn lead to a traffic boom for my site due to the twitter page itself and or people thoughts about positive outcomes that may come out of this!

Very interesting.. after reading this I noticed my twitter accounts are between pr3 and pr5 also..
I suppose you could do some link building to your twitter page and see if it ranks...No sig. - 02-26-2010 12:31 PM #7Member

Oh, there is lots of traffic. However, most of it is useless.
Twitter users are clickers, no buyers...
You`ll get the odd one signing up, and a small percentage of players out of twitter.
Use bit.ly to see what happens with your links when you post. You`ll be surprised.
Tweet lots, and it will bring in more traffic. And, yes, SE`s spider Twitter like a battalion of starving flies around the last piece of fresh **** in the dessert.
No follow yah, but, check what happens when you post a link. Spiders happen to hop over instantly.
That on its own is a nice result.... - 02-26-2010 01:03 PM #8Senior Member

I wouldn't expect much ranking improvement just from having your links on Twitter since the nofollow attribute is placed on those links, and Google is aware of Twitter enough to discount the links anyway. There is some evidence that nofollow links from a site like Wikipedia might carry some juice, which would make some sense with the way that Wikipedia is vigilantly moderated.
Another metric; OpenSiteExplorer rates that Twitter page as a 38/100 with only 4 backlinks, so it appears that the PR is mostly being boosted by the fact that it is on the twitter.com domain.PlayersJet reviews the best online gambling and betting sites

No I disagree
There are millions of twitter pages that have been on for ten times longer than mine and are not ranked at all.............
The ranking is due to the fact the page is consistently updated and changed by myself and my team! (Fresh Contents)
Google does not even realise about half the pages / profiles out there! With all social bookmarking profiles I own etc and things like twitter I treat as my own sites and I regularly submit to search engines and this as well as the regular updates have lead to the ranking
regards

Here are some data points to consider:
1) Do a Google search for the keyword "gambling portal" (I search showing 100 results per page), when you get to the 3rd page of results you will notice that this thread is ranking (PR0) and your Twitter page (PR4) isn't within the top 725 results.
2) In case Google just doesn't rank Twitter pages, I also did a search for your website using the same keyword. If Twitter were passing juice then you should be ranking well, however your site is currently ranked #539 and oddly enough it is your bingo page (PR1) that comes up rather than the home page (PR2) that Twitter is pointing too.
Clearly the data doesn't support the theory that value is being passed. If you are getting good traffic, then Twitter appears to be working for you, but as far as passing link juice there just isn't any data to support that claim.PlayersJet reviews the best online gambling and betting sites
