Eastern European Country Joins Ranks of Nations Demonizing Internet Gambling

    From the CAP News page:

November 24, 2009 (CAP Newswire) – After a scandal last month in which Poland’s Prime Minister, or at least some of those in the circle close to him, was accused of improper relations with the country’s gambling companies, the nation has voted to outlaw all forms of gambling not taking place in a traditional casino.

That specifically means slot machines, but also includes Internet gambling.

The law passed overwhelmingly, showing the lawmakers’ desire to make a statement. However, if it follows in the footsteps of Russia’s recent ban, it will likely only serve to push gamblers to alternate means of playing the game.

“The enforcement of this aspect of the bill will inevitably prove much more difficult than even the removal of thousands of slot machines,” stated the Krakow Post. Read that article here.
