CAP Removing Signatures
I suppose to standardize and to ensure CAP is getting "credit" for signups coming from CAP (regardless of the fact were simply paying a tenancy rate for now) CAP has begun to edit all Affiliate Managers signatures and posts. Have you noticed? I guess they figured this did not warrant any sort of announcement.
So now if an affiliate would like to contact me please visit my listing page. There, you can PM me, or simply copy my MSN name and add the [at] hotmail.com and email me or add to MSN, or search for my skype name , that you have to copy from that page too.
Jeesh lets make it a bit more difficult for affiliate to get in touch...
One more chink in the CAP armour but perhaps Im overreacting.

I guess this is a business decision based on the fact that CAP generates a lot of new affiliate signups which supports a charge for being listed as affiliate program here.
If the affiliate signs up through a signature, this does not get tracked, and affiliate programs don't see a value in being listed since no signups occur.
Looks to me like this is a tracking issue.
I have no knowledge of this, I am just saying what I think.
Seems like a "damned if you do, and damned if you don't" type of thing.dominique

If I were you I would talk to the business arm of CAP about this.
We are just the affiliate community here, and other than suggesting that it may be a tracking issue I have no solutions...
I guess us affs tend to look at things from a tracking perspective...dominique

CAP is not removing signatures at all. Affiliates can edit and maintain signatures as normal.
In an effort to provide greater tracking and measurement of which affiliates join certain programs through CAP, we require an affiliate manager who represents a listed program to simply contact us to make an edit to the default signature which will provide a link for affiliates to join should they wish. At the end of the day, we provide a service and would like our results to be monitored and tracked if we are held accountable to them.
We apologize for not communicating this change in advance. If any other program manager has a question, please contact us and we will gladly clarify. Next time an e-mail will be sent out prior to making any such change. - 10-08-2009 12:41 PM #7Guest Affilaite Manager

Well, since you posted in the affiliate general chat area, it gave the impression that affiliates lost their sigs.
I didn't move the post into the forum feedback area, but it really does belong here IMO.
Glad you got it sorted, probably you'll benefit from being able to track how useful CAP is to you and if your investment of time and money is paying off...dominique
