    Hi

First of all Id like to say how useful this site has been already in providing information about casino affiliate programs, and to thank in advance anyone who can help out with my questions below.

I am thinking of starting a betting website covering sports betting, casinos and poker rooms. If I go ahead the site will be player focused, and give the player the information needed to have a strong chance of making money.

The specific questions I have (any general advice also appreciated) are:

    – if my site is targeted at bonus-orientated players obviously it reduces the % profit I am going to get from any casino affiliate scheme, but will it stop me joining in their schemes at all?
    – i know its difficult to generalise with figures but if i had 75 bonus orientated players joining 20 casinos each in the first year, what sort of income might that generate? (Not looking for anything like exact figures, more an order of magnitude type estimate.)

Just to give some background, I have been betting on sports for a living for the last few years, and this year have got into online casinos and poker. I have built up a pretty wide and extensive knowledge of online casinos, especially from the viewpoint of the player looking to make a profit.

My weaknesses are a lack of experience in setting up a website & SEO, together with the strategic weakness of the target market for my site being different to the target market the casinos are looking to sign up. This is presumably much less of a problem for the sportsbooks and especially poker rooms.

My strengths are industry knowledge, some contacts in sports betting, plus the spare time and resources to invest. Also I am fortunate to be in the position that I am not too concerned with how much income comes in from this, but do want to know that there is at least a chance of it doing well before I start for “real”.

    Hi there,

Here’s just my two cents worth:

1st Bonus Oriented: Hmm.. I think that nobody can really answer this as there are the normal players who seek for quality gambling and perhaps bonuses, well wit those you can make money, but if your site is targeted to the “smart” bettor who is just looking for a way to make easy money collecting/abusing the casino bonus offers then I would say you wont make a dime unless of course you signup for CPA deal, but if the casino sees what you are doing or your players to be more exact I think you will not get paid or the co-operation might run out fairly quickly.

Now with poker that’s a whole different ballgame as with poker you get the money when your players get the money, so with poker players it’s important to find good players and educate them forward..(I wish I knew how to play poker).

Then there’s the sportsbetting, now you said you have been a professional sportsbettor for some time now and you are making your living on it..hmm.. isn’t this a dilemma? How can you make money of winning players? If you are going to tip those players with such good betting advise that they end up earning money – How are you going to be profiting from it? Unless you get a CPA deal here as well.

If you really have the passion and knowledge that makes you a winning sportsbettor than I would suggest a whole different approach. If you are interested then PM me and we can talk this further.

    hi mike

thanks for the quick reply and your thoughts, ill pm you after this post.

to clarify as I see it at the moment the casino part of the site wouldnt be promoting any abuse of casino t&c’s, nor would it focus solely on bonus collecting, although that would be a significant portion of the content.

id imagine the largest section of players would be bonus collectors, who observe all the terms and conditions, sometimes win, sometimes lose (looking at my own stats maybe something like a 60/40 split) but overall will win from casinos, although not from each individual casino.

of course there will be others who despite advice about how to make money will simply gamble it all back and more, and others still who may not be interested in bonuses at all.

with regards to sportsbetting i am not looking to run a tipping phoneline/website – i make more out of the information myself than i believe i could by selling it, and rightly or wrongly i dont have a great opinion of other tipsters in general. in both sportsbetting and poker i can provide interesting and informative content, that will help improve most players, but unlike making money from casinos both are far too much of an art to transform an interested visitor to a site into a winning player. id expect the typical person coming from my site to be a better than average sports gambler or poker player but as a group they would almost certainly still lose over time.

Hello Beginna and welcome to CAP :wavey:

    Those are some excellent questions.

I will allow some of the other webmasters to weigh in with feedback before I take a crack at them too. The good news is you seem to be asking the RIGHT questions so I believe you will do quite nicely in this business.

I will check back in later and throw in my two cents.

    Hi,

I have just this to say: you will get what you ask for.

    Think about it.

    Good luck
