UltimateBet Star to Host Charity for Fallen Officers
Online Poker Site Confirms Phil Hellmuth’s Participation
From the CAP News page:
September 4, 2009 (CAP Newswire) – Star of the UltimateBet poker pro team Phil Hellmuth has been asked not only to host November’s Hold'em for Heroes Charity Poker Tournament to Benefit the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers, but he's also been asked to sit on the organization’s CEO Advisory Council of the Organization.
The Hold'em for Heroes event is a charity Texas Hold'em tournament to raise funds for the families of U.S. and Canadian law enforcement members lost in the line of duty.
"Over the last several years, and especially ever since 9/11, my respect for policemen, firemen and the people who protect us has risen higher and higher," stated UltimateBet's Phil Hellmuth in a news release. "Our Hold'em for Heroes charity poker tournament gives money to the Fallen Officers Foundation, which supports officers and the families of officers who were killed in the line of duty. My friends and I are grateful to these brave men and women and we're proud to help out."
On his fifth year of serving to support the cause, Hellmuth is also joining the foundation’s CEO Advisory Council. “As a poker authority, Hellmuth will provide significant input related to the structure of the tournament, how to run the event, and more,” the news release stated.
