Default More Sponsors for Frank's Bill

Five new legislators throw support behind online gambling legalization mission

    From the CAP Newswire:

    July 21, 2009 (CAP Newswire) --
Though it has been temporarily been shelved for a few months in order for lawmakers to focus on more politically visible issues, Barney Frank’s legislation to legalize and regulate online gambling in the United States continues to pick up more support from fellow legislators.

According to a number of news sources, five more co-sponsors have signed on for the bill, which would basically overturn the UIGEA and create an environment in which online gambling could operate legally, within certain regulatory limitations.

“Of the five representatives that have been added, two are from New Jersey, and one each are from New York, Connecticut, and Idaho,” writes Larry Rutherford on CasinoGamblingWeb.com. “Representative Frank is gaining support not only among his fellow Democrats, but also on the other side of the aisle from Republicans.”
