Help take down the Iranian Revolutionary Gaurd
I'm not sure if this was posted here before and I'm sure you all heard about what is happening in Iran right now. The people may have a good chance at actually overthrow Ayatollah Khamenei's dictatorship and this could possibly prevent a war over their nuclear program if the new government changes.
Visit this one site: http://www.pagereboot.com/ie/?url=ht...r%2F&refresh=1
It is just a small web tool that automatically refreshes Ayatollah Khamenei's website every 1 second in order to crash it. Currently it is working and his website is down, just like he's taken down the opposition websites and news media.
Just thought I would post this up and we could all take a swing at a dictatorship. -

I moved this into politics.
You know, I think the internet is powerful in ways we don't tend to think about much.
For instance, back in Hitler's days, no one in Germany was allowed to listen to anything but the German (totally censored) radio station. People would be thirsty for news that were uncensored and lie in the dark under their blankets in bed at night trying to tune in stations broadcasting to them from other countries, such as Radio Free Europe.
One reason why dictators have gotten away with **** throughout history is because they always controlled the flow of information to their subjects.
With the internet, not only can people hear and see news from the rest of the world - they can even talk to people all over the world and get answers. And if you censor the internet, people have ways to get around it.
The control over the flow of information doesn't work anymore. And the world economy is such that almost every country depends on the use of computers and computer communications. No one can recall the use of computers.
People like the folks in Iran can make up their own opinions now, and that is spreading more and more throughout the world.
The internet is empowering the common man in an amazing way, and it takes away one of the most powerful weapons governments can use against their people - the control over information.dominique

Great insight, Dominique. I think this is a great idea, but maybe a DDOS isn't the best way of handling this.

Not condoning cyber terrorism at all.
I was just commenting on how the internet opens up information to peoples whose mainstream info sources are censored.dominique

Ayatollah Khamenei is long gone. It's the Islamic Clerics that he established during the '79 revolution is running the country, even if they have a president and an assembly to speak of. These clerics are the ones that promotes Islamic republic throughout Mideast and elsewhere. But they themselves are divided firstly between sunni and shiite, hard core and moderate who loves capitalism like Malaysia and Indonesia for they realize the importance of free trade and democracy.
In short Iran can be cornered and make them realize that a free capitalistic state is better than a dictatorial regime based on religion. America could always freeze their assets anytime of the day, any day of the week , twice on Sundays even.Last edited by holmes; 04-19-2010 at 05:16 AM.
