Time to remove Sporting Bet from top spots on sites
Well we are already hearing some punters complaining about getting limited very fast by Sporting Bet, now they are also limiting affiliate earnings in the future :
From mail :
June 2009
Dear Affilaite,
At this time every year we take the opportunity to review all of our business partnerships.
This year our focus moves to key partnerships & how we grow our business together & as a result, we are re-aligning our Affiliate strategy to a Value based model.
The strategy includes a major review of our Commercial Agreement structure, Terms & Conditions, Communication & Creative processes.
Please see below the link to the new Terms & Conditions for your information, which will come into effect from 1st July 2009:
http://www.sbaffiliates.com/t/affiliate-terms.aspx
Under the new commercial structure, from 01 July 2009 your agreement will move to 15% revenue share, which will continue to be paid on a monthly basis.
As we move into the new strategy, you will receive new improved banner creative, campaign briefs & regular email communication, which we believe will help grow your business.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email the team.
Kind regards,
The SB Affiliates team
Wow 15% revenue share!

Why should an affiliate spend time and website space on Sporting Bet banners/links for 15%, when we can get 30%+ at sportsbook like Bet365, Centrebet, betsson, Paddys, Betsafe, Interwetten etc. etc.????
I newer did well with Sportingbet compared to other bookies, so not a big loss for me..but 15%!!

remember when they cancelled all affiliate accounts a few years ago? I have never heard of any other firm doing such a disgraceful thing. Ethics are not sportingbet's forte to say the least.

Just want to add that for Croatian affiliates (don't know the case with other markets) they don't pay comission on any earnings you make on your players on casino, poker and gaming products!
What ever they earn on these products from my hardly refered players I only get commission for sportsbook!
Wrote them a few times to try to get that comission too, tell them that other programs give that by default but to no help.
On their site and in comission scheme they advertise 25% comission, not good like other affiliate programs that give 30%, but I could of lived with it, and now after some quick calculating I noticed they paid on 20%!!!
Yes I agree time to lower the weight on their banners/perhaps remove them completely! - 09-26-2009 06:53 PM #5Member

We also are paid only 20%. Always assumed I was on the worst deal of anyone with SBT. I did ask to be raised a long time ago and I think that affiliate manager has gone but it did not happen. It does stick in my throat that they advertise 25% yet don't pay it. This company can't be pushed too hard as they have that history of ignoring their own agreements.
It does sound as if you are getting ripped off on your croatian referrals as certainly all Uk traffic for Uk affiliates gets paid across all products.
If we were dropped to 15% or were not paid across all channels for a referred client's activity then SBT would definitely be removed from all our sites.

They've always been shoddy in their treatment of affiliates and for that reason most of the really big sports betting affiliates don't promote them. And if the likes of Gooners Guide and Oddschecker don't promote them, then it's reasonable to assume they're not worth promoting.
I don't want to get into my own experiences with them, but let's leave it at .... there are plenty of bookmakers that will pay and Jens from BonusTip mentioned several in his post. -

I totally agree, stay well clear! We have had a very bad experience with this merchant still no payment after 3 months - finance dept is unable to get its act together/prefers not to pay!
