    204 qualifiers selected

    From the CAP PR Wire:

April 23, 2009 — With less than a month to go before the third edition of the Everest Poker European Cup (EPEC) we now have the 204 lucky qualifiers who will be spending May 8th – 11th in the 5* Chia Laguna Resort on the island of Sardinia.

Recent figures released by Jupiter Research highlighted that poker players were getting younger and the EPEC qualifiers back this up with nearly 60% being under 34.

However, very little research has been carried out on the size of live poker players! Everest Poker asked players for their required shirt size and the response suggests that poker players are, shall we say, ‘larger’ than average! 64% of the 204 players requested Large or Extra Large with a further 9% opting for XXL.

The EPEC Finale is designed to give amateur poker players their first taste of a major live tournament with players qualifying from all over Europe but it is Sweden who have won the first two titles. We also have entrants from Poland, Hungary and Finland for the first year, the French are best represented with 54 players.

To enjoy a taste of previous EPEC finale in Portugal & Spain search on YouTube and to meet the players going to the event check out our Facebook page (search ‘EPEC Live Final’, or to join us on Twitter head to www. twitter.com/EVP_EPEC.
