With today’s news that Jadestone Networks is rolling out a new online gaming network dedicated to backgammon, the question is, just how many players will embrace it — and what kind of traffic can affiliates expect?
The dice gaming network (DiceArena) that Jadestone launched last year is apparently doing well, succeeding in finding a niche that had previously gone unfulfilled. Still, does that mean that every sort of card and dice game will find a happy home in the world of online gambling? Or will websites dedicated to backgammon appeal only to a market that’s too segmented to really ever become wildly popular? And does that even matter — does a game need to be wildly popular to be successful, or can smaller niche markets enjoy a healthy revenue as online gaming continues to pull in more and more players worldwide?
(It must be noted, this new network has reportedly already signed up some heavy hitters, notably bwin, PAF, and NordicBet. That’s a good start, for sure.)
What do you guys think? As affiliates, would you be interested in promoting this new network? Or do you have a wait-and-see mentality to new ventures like this, and prefer to wait to see how they do first?
