Are we finally getting somewhere here? Legalizing online gaming in the U.S.
The list seems to get longer every week: Add Texas to the roster of states where a drive to legalize poker both online and offline seems to be underway.
This follows recent movements in places like Pennsylvania, Colorado, and South Carolina, and it's pretty eye-opening. Looks like U.S. citizens are sick of being treated like children, and they want to be able to play poker legally.
And from the East (New Jersey) to the West (Utah), some prominent politicans are calling for the legalizataion of online gambling in general, to better combat illegal operators as well as to reap the tax benefits of regulation.
Is this enough momentum to get someone in Washington to take action? Maybe not yet, but I think it's pretty likely that Barney Frank will cite this as a sign of support in his fight against the UIGEA.
This is one of the stories we tackle in the latest CAP TV, which you can click here to watch in HD. Or, you can check out a smaller thumbnail video via Youtube right here:
What do you think? Is this the beginning of the end for the UIGEA? It seems kind of inevitable at this point, doesn't lt?Last edited by Nathan; 03-12-2009 at 05:19 PM. Reason: corrected YouTube video link

our government will entertain legalizing online gambling just like it is considering legalizing the sale of pot, so long as they can make a killing themselves. i hate to see what the proposed "fees" for operation and the taxes will be for this "privledge". still, 50% of the money is better than 0% of no money fo sho.
