CAP Membership - open discussion
Ok, the second open discussion, guys.
We don't really have any guidelines for what is and isn't tolerated behavior here at CAP.
I think maybe we need some explicit procedures for this.
I'll start in again to get the ball rolling:
1. This is a professional board and everyone should behave in a professional manner. We are here to do business first and foremost. Anything non-business belongs in the free-for -all section.
2. This one I insist on: No personal attacks, no name calling, no personal accusations. We are not here to discuss each other, we are here to discuss business and facts.
3. What else should not be allowed?
4. What should happen when people digress? Usually I post a warning and crack the whip.
Do you think that's enough of a warning or should this be more formal?
5. When should people be banned? After how many infractions? For how long? When does the ban get permanent?
What am I not even thinking of?
Please post ideas and suggestions so we can put together a charter for this and everyone will know what to expect.dominique

People should not be banned for just giving their opinion...
Free speech please.
Are all previous "unright" bannings undone already?Nederlandse casino's:. Casino Games Holdem poker regels Texas Holdem poker regels Play online Roulette casino's nederlands - 02-09-2009 09:49 AM #3
There should definitely be a formal process in my opinion as this is often someone's job and being banned affect them which is not a nice place to be - The same shoudl eb if you want to become unbanned
Of the past bannings some of them were just and some of them I thought were silly - This can happen I guess when running a big popular board but if there is more of a formal process put in place this will hopefully make it a little fairer.
Anways - I wanted to also say welldone on these discussions - I think its a massive step forward and will make this forum an even better place to hang outiGaming Super Show- 2.500+ delegates, 40 sessions, May 2012, Dublin, FREE for affiliates

Well there should be a defined guidline to banning people, and it should be enforced after it is known.

CAP is a professional business oriented forum so we may not be as liberal as some entertainment boards in terms of acceptable behavior.
That being we said we are and always have been wide open to professional, positive and constructive discussion in most areas of the baord. The polical session is allowed a little more freedom to discuss the issues that we all confront and take passionately. The free for all area is also more tolerant of non business topics as long as they dont get offensive.
This was discussed and has been posted at CAP here in the important disucssions area for years:
http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.c...ion.5318.html?
The rules we do have are not meant to surpress free speach, but they are a guideline of what is and what isnt acceptable behavior here.
Without checks and balances a community our size could quickly become poisoned and a hostile circus by a few negative personalties. All of us have seen that happen elsewhere.
The needs of the many out weigh the "free speach" ability of the very few who will only distract and distance our positive members and cause endless headaches for our moderators and partners. It aint an easy job to do that Elgoog but it has to be done.
Understand this, our goal is to provide affiliates and programs with a healthy, positive, constructive and effective way to grow their businesses.
We want to help affiliates increase their knowledge base, make friends, trade links, discover new partners and get help when needed.
For partners we do our best to develop quality relationships with successful and professional affiliates and help facilitate communication as needed.
Thats what we are all here for. If a shouting match or negativity or rumor mongering is what you seek I hope you wont find it here at CAP. I will always do my best to ensure you dont. - 02-09-2009 06:56 PM #7Member

It's not just politics that affilates are passionate about. This business is our passion.
Positive results can come from a negative situation when we're allowed to share all sides of the situation. All sides isn't going to always just be the positive side. To suppress opinions that are not in line with yours, or that you feel is not positive enough because someone isn't happy about something, is not a reason for banning.
I also don't think that anyone should be banned just because of who they are affiliated with.~Daera

Daera you have continually expressed views which I would find non supportive of CAP and we havent banned you. We have 8100+ members who havent been banned. The only people who have been banned in months were Michael and Steven Corfman and I did that in response to the constant negativitiy I was seeing about CAP in their videos and on the message board and polls. I dont think that was uncalled for given the hostility.
We discussed these issues at length with Michael, Steven, Rebecca, Myself, Alex Pratt, Warren and Michael Casselli in London and we all agreed that we would all move forward in a more positive light and work towards building up the industry rather then constantly distracting everyone with squabbles. The bans were rescinded at that point. This illusion of mass bannings is really being over blown and it's been done so for the negative publicity it generates. Can we please put that to rest also?
I have stated ouir policy clearly and it is fair in my oppinion. Remain profossional, postive and constructive. Discuss industry issues openly with an eye on resolution. dont insult fellow members moderators, admnistrators or your host community and you WONT be banned. Thats been true for years, when its in vogue now to believe that or not its true.
As an industry we have to have at least one positive business oriented board to congergate and WORK together. I want CAP to be that board. There are plenty of other sensationalist places to go if CAP doesnt fit your needs or desires. We certainly have the right to manage our own business in such a way that it offers the best value for our members. If the members agree, and the VAST majority do, then we have done the best we can hope for.
I sincerely hope you find value here too Daera, but please have enough faith to let us do what we do best. If you see me banning people you dont agree with moving forward please point it out to me for discussion. Fair enough? I bet you wont find it happening as often as you might believe now.Last edited by Professor; 02-10-2009 at 08:27 AM.

Ok I am going to bite. I said I wasn't going to post here again until many issues which I and others see with CAP have been resolved. But what the heck, here goes:Discuss industry issues openly with an eye on resolution.

I would like to hear your response to this which links yourself and Warren directly with the poker room known as Card Spike. If CAP is to move forward, transparency is required and also a public apology to the affiliate community including the programs which we promote.
