It was great meeting scubaguy - I wish we had had more time to talk. At every conference I meet at the very least one person who leaves a lasting impression.
Unfortunately I had a splitting headache through most of the conference, and the last day the flu raised it's ugly head and I had to stay in my room and try to get my bearings for the long trip back.
That made me miss the Golden Longe cruise which I was much looking forward to.
Overall it was a good conference as always, good to meet all the managers again and I made some new deals, as I do at every conference.
I also think that maybe the much publicized disturbance may in the end have laid a new base for communication and cooperation.
I want to particularly thank Alex for everything - I have yet to find mistakes in any of the decisions he made over the years. Putting on an event of this caliber is no small feat, good going Alex!dominique

Yep well done Alex and the CAP team the conference was a blast and possibly my best one yet in terms of business.
I met a bunch of new people and enjoyed the evening events as usual.
But I really want to find out if the Pizza guy found his moped, does anyone know? - 02-03-2009 12:13 PM #13

Great show and this time I actually was not stressed as before so I had time to let my hair down and enjoy myself. I arrived just in time for the ICE party and started meeting old faces here and used Thursday as a relaxation day. On Friday morning I went to register and it was a line that can only be described as being similar to mexicans trying to enter the US (it was long and took a while to get my badge, but once again hats off as this shows a true sign of progression from a small show to what now is considered an industry landmark convention).
I walked around the stands on both floors and saw many old faces there as well several newbies to the industry. I personally did not have a stand and instead inserted my brochures inside the conference bags (a glossy EarnReal brochure promoting the SPORTSBETTING.COM and RaceBook.com affiliate programs).
In the evening I went for a bite to eat in China Town followed by attending the Friday night party which was open bar till 12am. I did not get wasted at this party as I was sitting on the forex and sports betting panel the following morning.
On Friday I sat on both panels and was pleasantly surprised how many people are interested in promoting the forex biz, and how few are actually involved in this industry as affiliates (my site for those interested is forex-rates.biz). The sports betting panel was a success but some of the questions asked to me could of been harder.
In the evening I had a meal with the guys from BetUS (and thanks Erin for buying me dinner!), followed by attending the Casino Coins party. Casino Coins truly new how to have a good party and I was there till gone 4am, followed by going back to the hotel and drinking with managers and affiliates till 9am (yes 9am!).
Sunday was a lazy day for me as you can imagine and in the evening I watched the Super Bowl. The snow in London was unbelievable even for a seasoned brit like me and Monday saw several delays on the train and at the airport, but luckily my train ran on time and was not affected.
See you at the next show, - 02-04-2009 08:08 PM #15Resident Food Junkie

This was one of the largest and wildest CAP conferences we have had so far! I met tons of affiliates and affiliate managers all of who were enjoying themselves to the core.
The two exhibition days were packed with everyone working and networking like crazy.
The parties were amazing, there were masseuses, open bars, foot stomping music, and much more.
Although, there was a bit of tension it is pretty much water under the bridge now. Nothing to keep discussing when there are so many more important things to discuss like what is happening in OUR industry. So lets get crackin!
