What do you think should happen to Lieberman? He was really ‘over the top’ during the campaign as it relates to Pres. Elect Obama. LOL

McCain has a meeting with Pres. Elect Obama tomorrow and I wonder what will come of that? I also heard something about Palin working on some energy stuff with the new administration? :sarcasm:

Two members of the Senate’s Democratic caucus have called for Joe Lieberman to lose his committee chairmanship. On Sunday, North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan didn’t go that far — but did say the Connecticut senator’s actions during the campaign were “not acceptable,” as Republican Sen. Jon Kyl said the GOP would “welcome [Lieberman] with open arms.”

“…As a chairman of one of our significant committees in the Senate, not just going off and supporting a presidential candidate of the other side but also criticizing the candidate on our side, and also involving himself in a couple of Senate races on the other side,” Dorgan said on Fox News Sunday, when asked whether he thought the Democrat-turned-independent should lose the chairmanship of the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee.

“The question is, is that acceptable? The answer is no. The question, I think, mainly is what should happen as a result of that.”

The full Democratic caucus is meeting this week to vote on what penalty Lieberman may face for his decision to endorse John McCain’s presidential bid and criticize Obama. “We will hear from Sen. Lieberman, and then we’ll make a judgment,” said Dorgan. “I was concerned and was upset about what happened earlier this year. But you know what, we turn the page, we’ll make a decision about that on Tuesday.”

Arizona Sen. John Kyl, also appearing on Fox News Sunday, said the GOP would “welcome [Lieberman] with open arms… Joe is a very open-minded person. People in both caucuses love Joe because he is a great American. He’d be welcome in our conference, we’d love to have him there. And since he was of such great assistance to John McCain in this election, it would be good to have him with us.”

On Friday, both Vermont senators — Judiciary Committee Chairman Pat Leahy and Bernie Sanders, an independent who caucuses with Democrats — both said Lieberman’s actions during the campaign should cost him his chairmanship.

He lucked out and kept his jobs. :D He’s lucky that Prez Elect Obama is so forgiving.

IS it that ” Prez Elect Obama is so forgiving”

I dont think that’s the reason, I believe it’s because Obama is smart enough not to let Joe go, and that is a compliment and a wise move by the Prez elect. While Joe was pro Iraq war, his voting record in the Senate the last four years was more liberal than Harry Reed from Nevada.

That’s an interesting point, isn’t it Gam? I was very surprised to learn that.

I was shocked, I like him……………Say it ain’t so, Joe :roflmao:

That is stating the obvious and therefore I did not feel the need to say it. :D

The DEM’s wanted him gone so he is very lucky that we need him to get the 60 votes needed to pass bills in congress otherwise I don’t think even Obama could or should have saved him after the horrible way he acted during the campaign.

I saw him apologize for his behavior earlier today on TV so I guess all should be forgiven and we move on to getting some good laws pasted in this NEW congress.

    DO you really want that?

That’s not good for the country in my opine, I think check and balance is good.

You gotta split your voting ticket Gam.

You know, if you ever come out to calif, I’m gonna ( if you let me ) buy you dinner at a nice Italian restaurant and teach you the virtue of voting for the person, not the party.

PS, the pasta with shrimp, basil and diced tomato’s is the best at this place :)

To be honest, I did split my ticket because I do vote on the issues an not just by party. It took a long time for me to fill out my ballet and understand what the heck was up.

Ok, me and hubby will be in LA this Spring/Summer and I’m going to hold you to that dinner, but can it be at a Seafood resturant? He has been wanting to go for a year and I’ve never been there so I’m excited to go. Thank god it did not burn up! I’m so sad for those that lost their home. :(

So what do you think about that H8 ban?

Let me know when you two will be out and God willing we can meet up and have that dinner.

Actually for the second time in 6 weeks we were about 5 blocks from the fire, I am still working on cleaning up all the ash and soot that was here, they evacuated pretty close to us.

Our church was a rescue center, it was pretty cool, cause all the area food chains brought food everyday, the church had entertainment for the kids, it was awesome to pitch in and help out.

When the mayor, Tony V., Mr Kodak lol, heard how organized it was he came to the church to thank us, but as nice as that was that he did that, just seeing all the people saying how great they were treated was really nice.

I’m not sure what you mean by H8??

Gam, do you know anything about if skill Games for $$ are legal in the USA?

I’m sure that it feels good to help. :)

H8 is where Gays were allowed to get married in CA, but was overturned for some reason and now folks are rioting in the street, churchs and other places as well as saying how they are so disappointed in the blacks for not supporting thier civil rights movement, but wanted change. :sarcasm: Not sure how the two relate, but I’m not going to go there. LOL

My only question is how the heck can they have a law like that and then have it overturned? Who voted for it in the first place if the majority was against it? I’m confused on the issue, but figured you would know the scoop since you are there. LOL

Skill games – (I guess these qualify) I’ve not really given them as much attention as my buddy Shay would like, but I did get lucky and start making money with Scratch2Cash and hope to push rummy royal more. My members are so into slots and casinos that I can hardly give away stuff at skill and poker sites for some reason. I guess they are just as legal as playing at an online casino.

Ok, I’l add that dinner event to my itinerary of adventures while in California. :)

I voted for Ron Paul because i truely believe that the 2 party system has become corrupt for me to vote for either one of them. I think Lieberman has to be pro iraq war as his beliefs push him to vote that way, but i really think that people like ron paul would be great for online gambling here.
