    How disappointing.

I would like to think that I have worked diligently to earn my nomination.

To find out that the winner is going to be the person who has set up the most social networking sites degrades the award to little more than a popularity contest, which is a shame when you look at the kudos attached to it.

That's obviously my own opinion, but I was really proud to be nominated as I thought I had been recognised as having done a good job.it would appear though that despite my nomination I don't really have a chance when I am up against peers who have the time to engineer votes and turn the awards into not so much a recognition of a job well done, but rather a reward for having the most friends on facebook.

    Hey there Neil!

That's an interesting view and while it's a legit one, I don't think that we should 'limit' the avenues used for promotion of this event. The goal is for industry recognition IMO and 'social networking' is the in thing right now so basically "that's life". lol

I love those sites and I'm not planning on doing it that way, but do feel that other folks should be allowed to if they choose so I don't see a problem with it.

You absolutely earned your nomination, and it's definitely not a popularity contest. We have particular fields on the voting form that are mandatory in our best effort to keep things industry related, and those who are campaigning are typically doing so through their business/industry related contacts.

The fact that you were nominated by your followers shows that you are being recognised for doing more than a good job, but a GREAT one.

    Hey Arjun and Robyn

I'm not saying its a bad thing, it was just a personal opinion that 'campaigning' for a prestigious award like this somehow, in my opinion devalues it. I don't think it works that way at the Grammys or the Oscars for example!

But if that's the spirit then I will enter into it whole heartedly!

I am a tenacious little mofo at times...maybe a little outspoken as well, but those are the skills that make me good at what I do (in my opinion!)

Anyhoooo may the best/most popular person win, look out for my forthcoming pm based campaign and um...VOTE THEBOYMITCHELL!!!!

Ps - I was kidding about the pm-ing!
