    yeah been getting them here too. I always delete LR emails anyway - everyone always wants to give you less than you give them

    Add me to the list also.... got flooded with those emails for a few days, but it seems that they have stopped... never replied to any of them, because, as Dom indicated, the sender and signer never matched....

    I can imagine that if you except these kinds of links for money then there is a slight chance you will get caught and your site may get penalized. I highly doubt they are from Google however.

    Google punishes sites that break their TOS, they do not go around trying to make people break them and then punish them. That would be completely backwards.

    I would just ignore them no matter what you think however.

    This is very old thread but here is few scenarios what is happening;

    1.) There is a 'hire a link exchange expert' thing going on on the net - you can hire so called SEO expert (usually from India/Bangladesh/Pakistan or similar) that will spam webmasters 24/7 trying to get some links for your site for couple of $$$. However those mails usually have at least one or 2 links so you can take a look at the site in question - I never reply or answer those emails. If you reply at least once, it is most likely that you will have another 100 mails in your inbox instantly with same message but different sites/names.

    2.) Then some mails don't have any links but offer you whatever deal and always say 'reply if you are interested'. Those are just harvesting emails and later on send you no deposit casino cra* offers

    The best thing to do is to ignore those mails, just delete them. If they are persistent, just bounce back the email and your mail address will be showed in their system/inbox as invalid.

    Regarding our Indian friends, said websites they list in those emails are almost always completely useless and only exist to put outgoing links there. 30-40 per page is usually the norm.

    Just tell them not to email you again and they will not. At least that worked for me.

    In 2009 we sold a few links to raise money for a homeless man , the buyers has sites 3-8 years old and considered authority sites.Too bad we could not do it this year as we realised it was for a good cause but we ran a risk we would not take.We do not even do link exchanges now.

    Very nice idea to raise money for charity but people would only do it to increase rankings which is paid links.

    Nowadays even if you run a competition and say something such as; "link to us and get the chance to win ............". That is a form of paid links also.

    Yeah, sorry for digging this up but it does seem like it is the new way forward with SEOs who flood affiliate sites for links. I have even been contacted by a huge site that blatantly buys paid links from the email they sent me which could easily get punished.

    I think the best way to avoid it not to reply them If they are not mentioning their site.

    This is really annoying!

    Hey Dom, can you send me the mail that came from Todd (pm to me). I think I know where these emails are coming from.

    It's most likely a "linksmanager" type service. They are quite spammy.
