Anyone know of any tracking issues with 32 Red? Or how often the stats are apparently updated?

Reason I ask is that I created a guest player account via my link a day or two ago and it’s not showing in my stats.

In the past, players at 32Red had to deposit at least $50 before you would be given credit for the referral. I’m not sure if that is still the case (if it is, it’s total B.S.) — but maybe that explains your stats issue? I haven’t logged in in ages; I don’t remember if the stats show guest accounts or not.

Just started promoting them again and I am not impressed either with the stats

I do not like their stats reports too. I want to see clicks downloads as additional information.

It can’t be a deposit level issue ‘cos it was a guest account I created – and my stats show zero guest accounts. Clearly there IS a tracking issue so I’ll remove the links I have up until tracking is working again.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for posting on CAP and for your interest in our tracking.

The bannertag/tracking system is well established and is continuously tested to ensure efficiency. We understand its the backbone to any successful affiliate program, and its something we take very seriously. Therefore, I’m always more than happy to answer questions, receive feedback and listen to ideas.

FictionNet, I believe your guest conversion (our system tracks these too and will be visible from the sign-up report at the affiliate centre) was not tracked because of the cookie on your computer. If you visit 32Red.com (or any of our other products) within 30 days (sometimes longer, depending on your cookie settings) the cookie will record the manner of your first referral. So if you typed in the URL directly then it will record a relevant code, or if you visited via a search engine or an affiliate then another unique code will be recorded. No matter which method you then subsequently return via, it will use the cookie already set.

Nonetheless, I will pass your details to our IT team who will test your banners, cookie settings and then register through your account. I will email you the results as they come in.

In answer to your other questions: the stats are updated regularly, never any longer than 30 mins. The reporting suite isn’t where I want it to be either. Plans are in place for a total redesign and an expansion to include banner clicks and other useful stats.

Thanks again and please let me know if you have any other questions/feedback.

    Regards,

    Aaron

So if someone visits 32red.com directly but doesn’t sign-up, and then later visits via my aff link and joins, I get zero credit?

    Whoa.

Yes. This works to the advantage of affiliates, i.e. if you refer a visitor but he/she presses back, you will get credited for the player if he/she converts later. Likewise, when you refer traffic to 32Red.com but they then decide to visit another affiliate site before conversion, then you, as the first and primary affiliate, get credit.

No it definitely does NOT work out for affiliates. What you’re using is an ancient system that most programs phrased out years ago. Your system allows for iframe abuse and decent affs who make the sale losing credit.

The system you are using has been abused to hell by dodgy affs in the past and anyone can rip it to pieces and generate fake sales.

There’s no way I can promote your prog under this system.

As I’ve just discussed with you via email, the bannertag and cookie system is robust, with 32Red Affiliates never experiencing abuse of this manner. I will discuss this with our IT team and Microgaming nonetheless, and I thank you for time.

Okay. It’s your choice but it’s considerably open to abuse and I’ll have no part of it.

As I just explained to you via e-mail:

Okay…. I’ll whack my aff link up as a pop. It’ll get thousands upon thousands of legitimate cookie placements. No work involved there but millions of cookies placed. Then I’ll get credit when anyone decides to play via another aff link who’s actually gone on to put in the legwork and make the sale.

That’s EXACTLY why any decent program doesn’t do what you still do. That and 1×1 iframed placements.

Like it or not, your system is ancient and no good to any decent, hard-working affiliate. I doubt any of your affs were even aware you still use this awful system – well…. they do now.

Interesting. Perhaps I never made much with 32Red due to other affiliates stuffing 32Red cookies everywhere? That, combined with the $50 minimum deposit…. 🙁

Does anyone know if there are other programs that do it this way? I’d like to stop promoting them ASAP.

As far as I know, William Hill still does it – although it’s their policy that this is not exactly common knowledge (for obvious reasons).

I lost my pair of sunglasses the other day. I was really attached to them and wanted to buy the exact same make again. Over the weekend while walking through the shopping mall I encountered three or four shops that stocked what I was looking for. I inquired at each of them and finally bought a pair from the second store I visited because of the friendly (Bondi Beach) sales assistant.

Should the first store I inquired at be credited for the sale?

No of course not, not in this universe anyway. :exclamati

Precisely. And the point is… you might not even have walked into that first shop. The shop owner just came up to you and shoved the shades in your face (like a pop up). Or maybe he just whispered to you about them from across the street and you didn’t even hear him (invisible iframe cookie stuffing).

But yeah, he gets the sale in 32 Red’s world.

My problem isn’t even so much that they have this issue. My problem is the rep’s attitude which isn’t so much of “oh yeah, I see that’s a problem – let’s sort it out”. His attitude is more of “Don’t like it? Tough. Go away.”

So I have gone away and will never be back – even if this issue is resolved.
