Default Need some help from UK affiliates

Hi,

I live in Poland and I'd like to start running my affiliate business as a limited company registered in the UK. I'm looking for any kind of information that may help me with setting up such operation, bookkeeping etc. etc. Are there any restriction imposed on me by a Gambling Act 2005 or does it only apply to operators?
Thanks in advance for any links or info.

I'm sorry - this isn't related to what you need, but I thought I should mention that the link in your signature for "Wireless Poker" isn't working because it has two www's in it (www.www.poker24.pl instead of www.poker24.pl)

as I understand (not sure), a problem for portal owners is the initiative gambling, i.e. you can't advertise in UK bonuses, promotions...

But why an UK and not an offshore company?

Thanks for the link. To be honest I don't really like the offshore idea - it sounds complicated for me. In the thread you provided noone can agree on the tax issues. It seems much easier in the UK, it's in the EU, I live in EU too, so no problem with the taxes etc. I'd also prefer to keep my money in the UK bank rather than in an abstract institution on Seyschelles.
And one more thing - I have checked some big companies in the affiliate business - like Poker News - and they do operate in the UK as a limited companies.

Well, I'm sure you can do that. I've been to London two weeks ago and I've seen cabs and buses with poker bonuses ads.

So basiacally what I need is some info on how to set up a Ltd company in the UK that would promote gambling. To be more precise: I know I can simply Google 'setting up a limited company' but I'd be grateful for some advise from UK based affiliates on gambling specific issues - eg. can I use Neteller or Moneybookers to receive my affiliate payments or do I have to ask affiliate programs to wire transfer the money to the bank? These are the kind of questions I can't find the answer to...

AS far as I know you can get paid however you like, though you will have to submit yearly accounts to Companies House and Rev and Customs and then pay tax on all the profits. You will also be liable to charge and pay VAT if you are earning over £50K a year (I think it is) The main limitation is that as a UK Ltd company you would only be able to promote those operators that are on the whitelist (Eu member state or Whitelist jurisdiction - not Kahnawahkee) and you would have to adhere to the CAP code of advertising practice - in reality not sure how many actually do (the latter)

I think you need to put down at least one person with a UK address that acts as your company secretary.

I've not seen it clarified by lawyers yet, but general opionion is that if you are UK based then you should only represent casinos that are licenced in a recognised jurisdiction: Isle Of Man, Gibraltar, Malta, Alderney being the main ones.
